Weddings
THIS IS WHAT WOODSY WEDDING DREAMS ARE MADE OF.
Some places feel intimate whether you've brought 30 people or 150. This is one of them. We host up to 150 guests for the day, with 89 staying the night across our 33 cabins, two lodge bedrooms, and coming in 2028 - our newly renovated Spring Lodge Honeymoon House.
MAKE IT YOUR OWN
Enjoy a delightful blend of classic old-world charm and new-world amenities. The Waterfall Lodge & Retreat’s many features and vistas allow for infinite creative combinations for hosting your reception, ceremony and festivities. We are happy to work with you or with your wedding coordinator to design your own magical moment. Relaxed or formal. Small or large. Indoor or out. It will always be simply exquisite.
We are a bring your own vendor venue which means you are able to choose those who will make your wedding special and unique. We are also happy to provide you with our preferred vendor list which offers a variety of vendors who are all experienced working at Waterfall Lodge & Retreat.
THREE WAYS TO CELEBRATE HERE
Not every wedding needs the same amount of room. So we've made space for three.
The Full Property — Eighty acres, 33 cabins, the lodge, a redwood meadow, and coming in 2028 our new Spring Lodge Honeymoon House, all yours. Your people arrive, settle in, and stay. For those days the mountain belongs to you.
A Partial Buyout — The lodge, Stones & Flowers ceremony site, and all 33 cabins reserved for just your guests. Eighty acres is a lot of land, and the quiet corners of it stay quiet. All the setting, scaled to your celebration.
Micro-Weddings & Elopements — Up to 30 guests. Small by design, not by compromise. Ancient redwoods, the handful of people who matter most, and just for you - cozy forest accommodations in either a cabin or coming in 2028, the Spring Lodge Honeymoon House.
DANCE AND PLAY
Come make Waterfall Lodge & Retreat your own and feel at home. Settle in. Stay a while. There are so many ways to make wonderful memories in this unforgettable location. Dance and play in a giant mountaintop meadow, hike through the lush forest, relax amongst the redwoods, or laugh with your loved ones around the fire, sharing the story of how you first met.
ROMANTIC LOCATIONS
Now imagine, your eyes meet and for a moment, it’s just the two of you. You’ve made it to the start of a new adventure, together. Waterfall Lodge & Retreat is located on 80 acres of unforgettable and irreplaceable special spots in nature. Whether it is that first look location, or the romantic photos after your ceremony, or simply the perfect spot to exchange vows you have options.
On property, you have access to:
• 1000 year old redwoods
• An outdoor staircase
• A circular set of redwoods (we call a fairy ring)
• Beveled glass doors at The Lodge
• Elaborate balconies
• Reclaimed 19th century barn
• Towering a-frame cabins
• 1820’s French carved wooden doors
• Countless nature paths
• Buildings rebuilt from reclaimed wood
SOME OF OUR FAVORITE CEREMONY SPOTS INCLUDE:
Stones & Flowers
A perfectly manicured clearing surrounded by the vast natural beauty of soaring redwoods. Feel the love of your family and friends envelop you as you say your I-do’s.
The Redwood Meadow
Gather within a breathtaking meadow surrounded by redwoods as the Mother Tree (our ancient beauty estimated at over 1,000 years old) witnesses the love and commitment you have for each other. She represents stability and strength as you start your lives together.
Waterfall Lodge
Start your walk down the aisle by entering the massive, 1820’s French carved wooden doors. The lodge with its ambient lighting and leaded glass will take your breath away.

Wedding FAQ
What wedding packages do you offer?
We offer three:a full property buyout, a partial property buyout for up to 150 guests, and micro-weddings and elopements for up to 30 guests. Multi-day and single-day options are available depending on which you choose. Reach out and we'll send you the details for the one that fits.
Do we have to buy out the whole property?
No, but you can! A full buyout gives you exclusive use of all 80 acres, and it's still the way to have the entire mountain including all 33 cabins and the Redwood Meadow to yourselves. A partial buyout lets you reserve the lodge, Stones & Flowers ceremony site, and all 33 cabins are reserved for just you and your guests. Eighty acres is a lot of land. The areas you book are genuinely secluded, and you won't spend your wedding aware of anyone else. Minimums vary by season and by which option you choose, so ask us and we'll lay it out for you.
How many people can you accommodate?
Up to 89 guests can sleep on-site across our 33 cabins and the two lodge bedrooms, and up to 150 can join you for the ceremony and reception. A minimum of 16 cabins are required for full or partial buyouts. We're happy to suggest nearby lodging for anyone who doesn't stay on the mountain.
Can we have guests pay for the accommodation costs?
Yes, absolutely. Most of our weddings have their guests book and pay for their own cabins via our online cabin booking site.
Where do we get married?
For a full-buyout, you can choose between our famous redwood clearing, Stones & Flowers or the Redwood Meadow - right out of a fairytale. For a partial buyout, your ceremony will be at Stones & Flowers. Our micro-weddings are at the Redwood Meadow with an option at the Lodge during winter months.
Do you provide catering?
We do not provide catering. You are welcome to hire any caterer you wish. We also have a variety of caterers and more casual food vendors available on our preferred vendor list. In addition, you will have access to the lodge kitchen for informal meals during your stay.
